Neural Network.
Learn what Neural Network means in modern search and SEO.
A computing system modelled on the human brain, consisting of interconnected nodes that process and transmit information.
A neural network is a series of algorithms that attempt to recognise underlying relationships in data through a process that mimics the way the human brain operates. It consists of layers of interconnected nodes (neurons), each applying a transformation to the data it receives before passing output to the next layer.
Structure of a Neural Network
A typical neural network has three types of layers: an input layer (receives raw data), one or more hidden layers (learn abstract representations), and an output layer (produces the final prediction or classification). Deep neural networks simply have many hidden layers.
Relevance to SEO
Google's search ranking system is built on neural networks. Understanding how they work explains why keyword stuffing fails—networks learn meaning and context, not just lexical patterns. Creating content that satisfies user intent works with neural network-based ranking, not against it.
