Trust Flow.

Learn what Trust Flow means in modern search and SEO.

Part of speechnounOriginOld English treowth (loyalty) + Old English flowan (to flow)

Majestic's metric measuring the quality of links pointing to a URL, based on proximity to a curated set of trustworthy seed sites.

Trust Flow is a Majestic SEO metric that scores a URL or domain from 0–100 based on how close its backlinks are to a manually curated list of highly trusted seed sites. Links from sites near those seeds carry high Trust Flow; links from spammy or distant sites carry low Trust Flow.

Trust Flow and Citation Flow

Majestic pairs Trust Flow with Citation Flow (CF), which measures the quantity of links regardless of quality. A healthy link profile shows Trust Flow close to or exceeding Citation Flow. A large gap—high CF, low TF—suggests many low-quality links and potential spam risk.

Topical Trust Flow

Majestic also segments Trust Flow by topic category (e.g., Computers/Internet, Business, Health). Topical Trust Flow helps identify whether a site's link profile is relevant to its niche, which can inform link building targeting and competitor research.
